Background of Quarantine for Timber Packing Materials
- Timber Packing materials used for cargo transportation are not usually subject to plant quarantine, but are often made of raw timber that has not been processed or disinfected, so it is likely that foreign pests will flow in together. For this reason, in developed countries such as Australia and New Zealand, timber packing materials were designated as plant quarantine targets early on, and all the timber packing materials used in the baggage imported to the country were found to be causing damage by the introduction of important pests such as Bursaphelenchus xylophilus and Anoplophora glabripennis.

- Requirement
Conduct one of the following disinfection treatments and mark the following certification mark on the packing
- Heat treatment In the temperature 56 °C of the timber central part, it heat-treats over 30 minutes. (applied by our company)
- 1) Purpose To prevent the movement of germs and pests according to the international quarantine law
- 2) Method Processed by applying constant “heat”
- Prevention (fumigation) The minimum temperature should not drop below 10 degrees Celsius, and the minimum exposure time should be 16 hours. (chemical treatment)
- 1) Purpose Same with heat treatment
- 2) Method Make a closed space and remove it by “chemical treatment”(24hr)
